I think this is the news that some of you have been waiting for. Random House Children’s Books are to publish ‘The Spook’s Sacrifice’ in October 2009, with the old style of cover. This Collectors’ Edition is now available exclusively from Amazon on pre-order.

Yes! Its purple! Hurrah! Looks great - just hope all the rest will be done in original covers too - even if they are limited editions as well!

Joseph, I’d just like to thank you for your efforts in convincing the publisher to release the hardcover in this style, some fine work there! I live in Australia and will be ordering 2 copies as soon as it’s released, as there is another die-hard fan working at the local bookshop who’s been dying to get their hands on this one too.
Looking forward to reading it, I’ve been holding off buying the Spook’s Sacrifice in the forlorn hope that it’d be released in this edition - looks like an early Christmas to me!

I am so happy to see a old style cover of this book..thank you for working with your publisher to make this happen…I hope that you can let us know if they will be willing to do this for all of your books in the future

I appreciate all the effort gone into producing this beautiful cover and that this was a recent decisionso no notice could have been given, I have to say that I wish I’d known about it earlier I would have waited and not bought the first cover on release date I’m unemployed and can’t afford to buy two copies of the same book so I’ll keep an eye on e-bay and amazon/amazon market place for the price to come down
Thanks anyway - it is beautiful The book was fantastic Such a great story Kept me up at night just to finish it (”Just one more chapter”)
Is this something that’s likely to happen with the next book as well? I can’t wait for the next one (but I will if it means getting a collectors edition cover) lol!

Brilliant! Ordered it already! I haven’t read this one- hoped it would come out as a limited edition but had to hold myself back.. hopefully it paid off!

Now that The Spook’s Mistake is out will there be a similar cover made for the Spook’s Stories: Witches book? I just thought it might be interesting to have that same sort of style but with a different character on, or something of that sort?

That’s really good news. I was dissapointed with the new style cover and it’s good that this limited collectors edition allows fans to carry on their book collections with matching covers. Does anyone know how many of these were printed as it is described as a LIMITED collectors edition?

hi,so glad that you can get them with the old covers because i have all the others books in that cover i have read the spook’s sacrificeit i very good though i did think alcice was going to die but she hurrrah but poor tom’s mum does
but she die but better her than tom in the middle of reading the whitches it is really good can’t wait for the next one

Joseph, very many thanks to you and your publisher for the continuation of the spooks books original covers. I am absolutely delighted that i have been able to purchase one from amazon to continue my collection (although - secretly i bought the new one too just so i could read it!)
Can you possibly tell me if you are ever likely to visit the Glasgow area for signings etc?

Yes! I was searching for a cover like this for the spooks sacrifice and i nearly bought the other syle book, I have a lot of enthusiasim about this style of cover, I belevie it has a big reputation. I though that this boook was going to be purple because i discussed it to joesph delany with my friend Harry a vetaran fan just like me. I’m So Buying one, can’t wait to get stuck in.
I really hope this great news continues with the other 4 books:).

Hi Joseph, I’m another of your Australian fans. Unfortunately I was a bit late in discovering your fantastic series of books. I was scared that I wouldn’t be able to get The Spook’s Sacrifice in the original style cover, but was overjoyed to find it still available. I just want to add my voice to those who call for all future books in the series to be available in the original style…preferably at the initial release date (or at least an indication at first release date when the Original style alternative one will be available). This kind of thing is very important to me! I’d also love to see The Spook’s Stories:Witches and any other companion books to come released in a complimentary style so that they all match!

Hi Joseph! I can`t wait till the spook`s Nightmare comes out even though I am only up to The Spook`s Battle.I love Your books,I hope you will wrtite more.i heard there is going to be a film in 2011,it will be brilliant!
ps i think the spooks secret is the best book so far.

Please please please can you print more of the special edition? i am a HUGE fan of the books and have all of them in the old style cover, which i love!, but i had no idea that these ones were being released ): and now they are all gone D: I am completely GUTTED! i’ve looked everywhere ):

Hello, I am also another person who would love too see more copies of the ’special edition’ of the spook’s sacrifice. I am really annoyed and even though I love the books have not decided to buy the spook’s sacrifice until I have the version which matches all my other books. Please!!
